Beneath the surface
No nodding silently. No talking in circles. Real, structural change.
Many people come to us because they’ve already tried to think their way out of their pain, only to find themselves running into the same problems over and over again. Self-help books and late-night chats with ChatGPT just can’t make the racing thoughts stop, grant the motivation to get out of bed, breathe the life back into a marriage, or give a child the space to grow. Even people who have tried therapy before might still be struggling after getting 30 minute monthly “check-ins” with an overwhelmed insurance therapist, or meandering sessions with someone who only listens and never shares.
Listening matters, but deep, lasting shifts don't happen just by talking to us about your problems. They happen when we stop the daily performance of seeming fine on the outside, and get a deep understanding of what’s happening inside. Your brain is a master at thinking about your stress, but your nervous system keeps the real receipts. We don't treat anxiety or depression as abstract concepts to be managed with generic worksheets; we treat them through your whole body.
We track where panic climbs into your chest, where work stress locks your jaw, and how depression leaves you feeling hollow and heavy. Whether intrusive thoughts trap you in a cycle of constant overworking or a deep, physical exhaustion you can't seem to sleep off, we integrate your mental and physical experience with body-focused somatic techniques. This way, we can create lasting changes for chronic issues that logic or insight alone can’t reach.
For high-achieving students and professionals, analytical minds, and men fighting systemic burnout, connect with Young here.
For deep-seated trauma, chronic overthinking, and feeling disconnected underneath it all, talk to Kate here.

Whether your relationship feels like a cold, high-wire corporate negotiation, an active battleground, or just something completely different from what you thought you signed up for, we know that feeling stuck in a partnership can make you feel the loneliest you’ve ever been. We're here to walk through it with you.
When couples stall, it’s usually because both people are caught in an unconscious rerun of worst-case scenarios, protecting themselves instead of connecting. Our integrative, experiential couples therapy framework gives couples the power to deal with the hardest topics and come out the other side as a team. Like our approach to individual therapy, we don’t stop at nice-sounding solutions and “I feel” statements. We coach partners on how to reunite with themselves and with each other, emotionally and physically.

When a kid is overwhelmed by a world that moves too fast for them, standard talk therapy can feel like an interrogation that mirrors their experience in school, where they may already struggle with competing demands, peer rejection, and adults’ expectations. Our approach skips the sterile clinical questions. We utilize play-based therapy, expressive arts, and active movement to give deep-feeling kids and teens a space to speak freely—even when they don't have the exact words for it.
Our somatic superpower is the sea. With a wild coastline and ample space to explore just a quick, safe walk from our office, we enhance our work with kids and teens with the deeply healing, regulating effects of nature.
We believe parents are vital team members, not spectators on the sidelines. To learn tools that actually work at home for your struggling, overwhelmed, or neurodivergent child, get in touch with Ariel here.

While we always have the privacy and security of our office available, our exceptional location within strolling distance of Rockaway Beach means you don’t have to limit your healing process to the size of a laptop screen or an enclosed room. Because our physical environment deeply influences our body’s capacity to settle, we can intentionally utilize our local coastal landscape as a co-therapist.
Through nature-based sessions along the beach and coastal trails, we use the literal physical expansion of the ocean to soothe hypervigilance, ease depression and hopelessness, and reduce the intensity of fear and anxiety.
